In keeping with my sugar posts, I wanted to share a recipe with you for homemade hot fudge sauce. We had a small group over for a cookout last night and since all of the ladies are pregnant, dessert was ice cream sundaes! This sauce was divine, and so easy to make.
Hot Fudge Sauce
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 5-oz can evaporated milk
In a heavy small saucepan melt the chocolate and butter. Add the sugar, gradually stir in the evaporated milk. Bring mixture to boiling; reduce heat. Boil gently over low heat for 8 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove pan from heat. Cool slightly. Serve warm over ice cream. Leftovers can be covered and chilled. Makes 1.5 c sauce.
To really mix things up, prepare as above. After cooking 8 minutes, stir in 1/4 cup peanut butter.

oh yum, glad yall had a great fourth!
