I started listening to country music in anticipation of my move to Nashville for grad school in 2005. After all, if I was going to be in Country Music Country, then I needed to at least have a clue which stars I was trying to spot and know something they sing. Well, 5 years later I'm still listening.
That said, I'm also the biggest sap on the block. I listen to the lyrics and get teary! Who does that? The words are just so sweet and sometimes romantic that I can't stand it! Does anyone else have this problem? Any time I hear Brad Paisley's Remember When, or Darius Rucker's It Won't Be Like this for Long or even Jason Michael Carroll's Where I'm From, it's all over. So silly! Maybe I should start listening to heavy metal...I bet the tears don't flow with that kind of music.
I know what you mean! Have you listened to Heartland's "I Loved Her First"? This guy singing to a another guy about the girl the second guy has fallen in love with?? I won't tell you the rest in case you haven't heard it .... Anyway, a guaranteed tear-up song for me!!
