Weekend Recap: 25 hours in Rochester

We spent 25 hours here this weekend: It was lots of fun visiting my brother. He's a lot of fun. And his a cappella group's concert was fabulously entertaining. In fact, I have to share a little recent news about this group.
Are you familiar with this Taylor Swift video? Well the YellowJackets did a remake...but with just guys in the group, their version was about 2 boys. It's funny. And you should watch it.

But what is even funnier is the attention the video has received. This month the video somehow attracted national attention, and was featured in Entertainment Weekly and by Perez Hilton. They have now had 500,000+ hits, which is both crazy and awesome for the group. All attention can be positive PR, right? If you're looking for a good laugh, watch the video. I'll post pics of the concert once they are sent to me...this concert was a based on the TV show GLEE and their corresponding videos were hilarious.

Let me also share a Rochester culinary delight with you: the Garbarge Plate. This was Hunter's first trip to Rochester so at midnight on Saturday night, we all ventured here:
to get garbage plates. Beware of the next few pics if you have a weak stomach--garbage plates do not make for pretty pictures.

I personally did not have a garbage plate, but instead tried "salt potatoes". Had never heard of them before! They are small potatoes boiled in heavily salted water and then drenched in butter. Yum! (And all of this food was super healthy for us)

Here is version 1 of the garbage plate...a "neat" version if you will. A NY form of hot dogs, hash browns and macaroni salad:
And here's a more traditional, not-so-neat version:
(I think this was 2 cheeseburgers atop salt potatoes and baked beans, smothered with hot meat sauce.)
And yes, he ate all of it. :)
Are you hungry for a garbage plate now?
